The characteristics of cotton towels
Apr 04, 2018

1. Strong hygroscopicity, shrinkage rate is about 4~10%.

2. Resistant to alkali and acid, the cotton cloth is very unstable to inorganic acid, even very dilute sulfuric acid will make it destroyed, but the organic acid is weak, almost no destructive effect, the cotton cloth is more alkali-resistant, generally dilute alkali at room temperature No effect on the cotton cloth, but under the action of strong alkali, the strength of the cotton cloth will decrease, and often use 20% of the caustic soda solution to treat the cotton cloth, and a "mercerized" cotton cloth can be obtained.

3. Light resistance, heat resistance, in general, in the sun and the atmosphere will be slowly oxidized cotton, so that a drop in strength, long-term high temperature effect will make the cotton suffered damage, but its resistance to 125 ~ 150 °C high temperature treatment.

4. Microbes have a destructive effect on cotton fabrics and are manifested in non-resistant molds.

Hygiene: Cotton fiber is a natural fiber, its main component is cellulose, there are a small amount of waxy substances and nitrogen and pectin.
